OUR COUNSELOR

Jennifer Gibson has earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Texas A&M University and a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Jennifer is certified in the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern. Through her practicum and internship at the Baptist Marriage and Family Counseling Center she has experience and training in group, individual, couples, and co-therapy counseling.

Personal comment:

I see my specific call to counseling as falling under my overall commission by God to love Him and to love others.  I believe God has very clearly called and equipped me to be a Christian counselor, a helper of hurting people.  God calls me to sharpen others and to bear their burdens.  (Galatians 6:2, Proverbs 17:27)  I am willing to listen, to confront, to empathize, to get involved, to struggle, and to work with people on the tough stuff because I know that there is always Hope.  Jesus Christ came to save the sick, and I am honored to serve others in some of their greatest times of sickness, struggle, confusion, and need.  I strive to be an advocate of truth and hope, and I am thrilled as I witness God changing lives in such a powerful and personal way.  I believe Christians are at war for strong families and personal health.  Praise God that He has overcome the world and has the capacity to bring healing in any situation!
