It is natural for children to experience some "separation anxiety." Many children will cry when left in the nursery. Our caregivers make every attempt to help the child feel secure and happy. We will check if the child is hot, cold, wet, hungry, or needs to be held. We will try a variety of distractions, including taking a stroll down the hallways and occasionally outside. We will usually attempt all of these efforts for a time for about 15 minutes before we attempt to contact the parent to ask you what should be done. We will not let a child "cry it out" unless specifically instructed to do so by the parent.
