Youth Groups - Spiritual Formation for Teenagers

Registration for Youth in Grades 6 through 12 for the 2018-19 school year (printable version) is available here.  Online registration is available here.  If you use the printable version, you can either mail it to Christ Church, 25 Central St., Andover, MA 01810, or you can scan and e-mail it to Mary Ann Lennon in the church office.  If you have any questions about our youth programs, please e-mail our curate, the Rev. Jen Vath.

We are changing the organization of our youth groups in 2018-19.  Instead of our Rite-13 and J2A youth groups, we are forming a new "Middle School Youth Group" for 6th-8th graders and a new "High School Youth Group" for 9th-12th graders.  Youth group meetings are typically led by a team of three or four adult mentors and normally gather on Sundays after our 10 a.m. worship service, beginning at approximately 11:30 a.m. until approximately 12:45 p.m.  We may also schedule some meetings at other times, like Sunday evenings, depending on families' schedules.  Other gatherings and/or trips for these groups which may happen on a day other than Sunday as well.  Click for the Middle School Youth Group schedule for 2018-19.  Click for the tentative schedule for our High School Youth Group.

An opportunity for Confirmation preparation is offered on an every-other-year basis for young adults who are in at least the 10th grade.  If you are interested in confirmation for your teen, please contact the Rev. Jen Vath.  The next confirmation preparation for our young adults is being offered during the 2018-2019 program year, with the Rite of Confirmation taking place on May 4, 2019 (time and location TBD).

The design of these first two years is to celebrate the individuality of each young person and their creative potential. Read More
The design of this middle portion of the program is to engage youth with the skills and critical thinking involved in adulthood. J2A culminates in a pilgrimage trip that the youth plan and embark on together that many cite as the high point in their spiritual journeys. Read More
The YAC program is a more service-oriented program designed to help our eldest teens to begin to claim their own ministries within the life of the church and the larger community. Read More
Barbara C. Harris Camp & Conference Center

The Barbara Harris Camp (or BCH), located in beautiful Greenfield, NH, is an Episcopal Camp and Conference Center owned and operated by the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts.  Opened in 2003, this camp’s summer program has become very popular with Christ Church children and youth.  This program offers a tremendous week-long summer camp experience, in a Christian context, which is available to any child from 4th grade to 12th grade.  In addition, the camp is frequently used during the fall, winter, and spring for diocesan youth retreats, parish vestry retreats, and a variety of other purposes.  To learn more about the BCH Camp and Conference Center, please visit the BCH website
