The mission of this position is to empower and equip the people of Epiphany in the sacred formation of our children -- from the cradle through 3rd grade -- as disciples of the living Christ.

ChildrenMsgThat's the weekly opening to Pastor Rick's time with the children during worship on Sunday mornings. All children are invited to come forward for some time with Pastor Rick as he talks with them about the day's lesson. (Adults listen closely too!)

Children of all ages are welcome in worship and all are welcome at God's table of grace. (Click here for more information about Epiphany's open communion, the practice of communing ALL people, including all ages.)

For those children who would prefer to be in a more playful environment,Epiphany's nursery is staffed from 8:15 a.m. through the end of our 11:00 worship service.

 

Medical release forms should be on file before youth attend off-site or overnight events at Epiphany.

Activity consent forms are required for each off-site and/or overnight activity for Epiphany children and youth.

Sundays for Children

On Sunday mornings, children gather at 9:45 for a rousing musical opening to our faith formation time. At 10:00, children separate into groups by ages for faith formation sessions. 

Children preschool - kindergarten engage in Godly Play. This time together centers on a storyteller sharing hands-on Bible lessons. Children are given the opportunity to interact with the story and respond to what they have learned.

Children 1st - 3rd grades experience Spark!, which follows the lessons they hear in worship for each Sunday. 

Our fourth and fifth graders share small group time, exploring Gospel lessons together and sharing how the Scripture speaks to them, right here, right now.

Nursery is available for children too young for Godly Play gatherings.

Imagine logoWorship Arts Workshops
Wednesdays at 5 PM
September - May

Join us on Wednesdays when we gather to prepare creative arts for Sunday morning worship. IMAGINE is a time for all to develop and rehearse their creative gifts. This family time is intended for all ages -- an intergenerational time of creativity and fellowship. Five worship arts centers are offered: Drama, Arts, Voice, Instruments, and Dance.

During the hourlong workshops, teams work on worship arts with a six-to-eight week focus: September/October, November/December, January/February, and March/April. Center leaders will help coordinate weekly activities, with much input from participants.

Our imagine time is part of Epiphany's Wednesday Grace gathering. The arts workshops are followed by the community meal at 6 p.m. -- a midweek gethering of food and fellowship for our whole community.  Wednesday Grace Worship follows the meal at 7, offering a midweek time to pause, reflect, and worship.  At 7:30, Epiphany's adult choirs and Wednesday Grace Bible Study meet.
