Eliot Unitarian Chapel (EUC)
Position Description for the Communications Specialist

The Communications Specialist prepares and publishes EUC communications, including flyers, newsletters, brochures, emails, website updates, and social media interaction.

Requirements
General:

  • Strong desktop publishing skills and knowledge of graphic design.

  • Able to handle multiple projects with deadline pressures.

  • Capable writing and editing skills.

  • Good organizational and communication skills.

  • General knowledge of popular social media tools.

Supervision and Working Relationships:

  • Works under the general supervision of the Administrator.

  • The Lead Minister is the executive authority for personnel.

  • Regularly communicates with other staff and congregation members as necessary.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Produce and distribute the weekly email newsletter blast.

  • Prepare the weekly Order of Service for printing.

  • Produce the monthly newsletter and distribute via email and website.

  • Regularly create event graphics, flyers and sign-up sheets to be posted on-site and on the website.

  • Maintain and update various EUC brochures.

  • Occasionally create and distribute press releases to local news outlets.

  • Update website content.

  • Manage and maintain Eliot’s social media presence.

  • Staff the Front Office one Sunday a month.
