Marriage is a gift God has given to all humankind for the well-being of the enitre human family. For Christians, marriage is a covenant before God through which a man and a woman are called to live together in discipleship. In a service of Christian marriage a lifelong commitment is made by a woman and a man to each other, publicly witnessed and acknowledged by the community of faith.
As Jesus Christ has blessed this relationship, and it has been declared holy throughout the life of the church, those married in the sight of God are promised God's help as they enter into the joys and duties of life together. God calls Christians to increase not only in their love for each other but in their love for God, so that, with God's help, they may create a home in which they and their children can truly grow in grace.
"At the beginning of creation God made them male and female. For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. So they are not longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate." - Mark 10: 6-9
Baptism
The Baptism of children witnesses to the truth that God's love claims people before they are able to respond in faith. Parents bring their child for baptism on the basis of their own faith and are the vital force in fostering a child’s spiritual growth. It is their responsibility to promise to raise their children in the Christian faith, to profess their own faith in God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, and to receive God’s promise of grace for their children.
Baptism is truly a faith celebration shared by the whole community of believers. The entire congregation promises to love and care for the newly baptized and to provide an example of faith and love.
In the Fall, we hve an annual Beach Baptism. Baptism is a visible expression of your commitment to Jesus Christ. Whether it is a first-time commitment or a re-commitment, baptism is your testimony that you belong to God, and He is at work in your life.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19)
