Our Affiliation

First Baptist Church of Geneva is part of the Baptist General Conference (BGC), a voluntary association of more than 194,000 people, in a voluntary association of more than 950 churches (and church starts) located in 13 geographic regions as shown below.

The Conference is a voluntary association of churches in the United States and islands of the Caribbean and Bahamas. It is a fellowship of churches whose theology is biblically evangelical; whose character is multiethnic; whose spirit is positive and affirmative; whose purpose is to fulfill the Great Commission (Matt. 28:18-20) through evangelism, discipleship and church planting; and whose people celebrate openness and freedom in the context of Christ's Lordship.

Midwest Baptist Conference

First Baptist Church of Geneva is located in the BGC's Midwest Baptist Conference (MBC), a fellowship of 123 churches in Illinois and Indiana, the Kenosha area of Wisconsin, St. Louis and east-central Missouri, and Louisville, Kentucky. Though the heritage of the MBC is rooted in over 125 years of Bible-based traditions, churches are progressively open to contemporary ways of presenting the Good News of the love of Jesus Christ.

The mission of the MBC is simple: that Christ will use the MBC as a vehicle for "Planting and Growing Healthy Churches."
