First Baptist Church of Morrow identifies itself as “A Church on Mission in A Mission Field.” One of the cornerstones of our church’s life is its commitment to carrying the gospel beyond our walls into every corner of the world. From local mission projects to international mission trips, the community of faith at First Baptist Church of Morrow is serious about sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.

In June of 2003 the congregation commissioned a team of eight church members to serve as its Mission and Ministry Vision Team. This group, comprised of a cross-section of members, worked for 18 months in a strategic planning process aimed at assisting the church in understanding its history and how it informs the present, clarifying its identity, and setting goals for mission and ministry in the community and abroad.

Already the church has seen the benefits of this team’s work by its commissioning of volunteer Missions Coordinators, a concerted publicity effort to tell the church’s story of keeping pace in a changing community, and a comprehensive plan for facilities renovations and improvements that commenced in March of this year.

The Mission and Ministry Vision Team was assisted in its work by The Center for Congregational Health, based out of Winston-Salem, NC. To learn more about the Center and its work in helping create healthy churches, click here.
