Starting with an excellent nursery, there is something special for every age child from birth through twelfth grade. At our 9:30 and 11:00 am services there is safe, clean, and highly staffed nursery care for those two years of age and younger. For the infants, mothers will receive a notification so that the nursery attendants can easily contact you if there is a need. For children three years old through fifth grade there are fun, friendly, and Bible-centered classes. These classes are staffed with trained, friendly, and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make church exciting and memorable for your child. Go to ourChildren’s Ministry page for more information.
For Middle School and High School students we have exciting programs designed just for them. For more information about these programs and the exciting events they have coming up check out the Middle School or High School pages.
What Are the Services Like?
We have 7 Sunday morning services in three different locations on our campus. Our Sunday services typically last one hour and ten minutes.
In our main Sanctuary we have three services, 8:00, 9:30, and 11:00 am with identical messages from our Senior Pastor Jim Dunn. His messages are Biblically based, full of energy, and applicable to your life. If you would like to hear a message from Pastor Jim, visit our sermons page to listen online. Our 8:00 am service is more on the traditional side. You can expect traditional hymns led by our praise team. At the 9:30 and 11:00 am services our worship style is contemporary typically featuring present day praise songs and newly arranged hymns
featuring our praise band, praise team, and our choir.
In our gymnasium we have our CrossWalk ministry at both 9:30 and 11:00 am with identical messages from CrossWalk Pastor Brad Stahl. His style fits the target age group of 18-39. Brad uses creativity and pop culture to share biblical truths in a way that makes it memorable, relatable and relevant. If you would like to hear a message from Pastor Brad, visit our sermons page to listen online. This service features an alternative worship style featuring the newest praise songs and band, lights, and a group of people looking to worship in a little different way than the
traditional church service.
Across the street at the Scottish Rite complex, Primera Iglesia Baptista meets at 9:30 and 11:00 am. This service led by our PIB Pastor Pablo Zelaya, is for Spanish speakers. Pablo’s energy and passion for the Lord is evident in his teaching. If you would like to hear a message from Pastor Pablo, visit our sermons page to listen online. The music features Spanish versions of today’s most popular praise songs and other great worship songs written in Spanish.
How Should I Dress?
Dress tends to be casual – with ties making appearances mostly at special services or our traditional 8:00 am (i.e., Easter and Christmas). At our other services people’s dress ranges from business casual to casual and even shorts and sandals in the summer. Our main goal is that your feel welcome and comfortable on your visit to First Baptist and come dressed however you feel comfortable to worship the Lord.
Am I Expected to Participate in the Offering?
No!!! We don't invite you to First Baptist Church for your offering. Please don’t come feeling any obligation to give. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God's Word, and a place where you can grow in God's grace. Please don't feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.
If there's something we missed on this list, just give us a call at 209.466.4368 or ask someone when you arrive by visiting one of our information kiosks near one of our services or in our Children’s Center. Whether you're new to the area and looking for a church home, or if it's been a long time since you've attended church at all, we hope you find that after visiting First Baptist you will want to make us your church home. We exist to help you take your next step in knowing Jesus and making Him known, and we are looking forward to meeting you personally this Sunday!
