Adult Christian Education

At First Pres, we are serious about our responsibility to nurture apprentices of Jesus at every age—including adults. We invite you to take this opportunity to sample a richer array of choices in adult education than we have been able to offer for many years.

We are offering three different tracks of study on Sunday mornings at 9:00 am. Pick a track and climb aboard!

Take a deeper dive into the Word of God.

Many people are not familiar with David's choir director, Asaph, who not only directed the music of David's many psalms, but also wrote 12 of them: Psalms 50 and 73-83. These psalms are gut-wrenchingly honest and powerful, asking the hard questions of God, like "what's up with unanswered prayer, unfulfilled promises, and unpunished evil?" Learn how these psalms help us on our way to intimacy with God.

TAUGHT BY: Steven Denny

January 12 - Psalm 50

Discover spiritual practices, rooted in Scripture, to help you on your journey as an apprentice of Jesus.

Worship, like breathing, is something we all do together. Every living being worships something. As apprentices of Jesus, our primary job is to worship God. But why do we do what we do the way we do it? And, what might you be missing on your path to deeper intimacy with God? We will talk about everything from creeds to candle holders in this introduction to Christian worship.

Our heart knows God is always with us. Sometimes, our head forgets. Experience God's presence in life's most challenging situations.

When we see everything that's going on in the world, we can find ourselves asking, "Where is God?" As believers, we know the answer: God is in the midst of it all. But...? Hear, through real-life experiences of a wide range of Christians, how they are seeing God's plan and purpose worked out. Even in some of the most challenging situations, Christ is there
