Confirmation

IMG_2434

What does it mean to be a follower of Jesus Christ and a member of First Presbyterian Church?  The confirmation experience helps seventh and eighth grade youth explore these questions using “Fit to Follow: A Study of Discipleship” and “Journeys of Faith.”  Other topics include:  church history and government, sacraments, Christian beliefs, church membership, service and mission.  To nurture these youth along on their faith journey, each is placed in a Covenant Group with two elders and several other youth.

Highlights of the Confirmation ministry include ushering for worship, a weekend retreat, a service project, writing a personal faith statement, a faith conversation and dinner with the Session, a breakfast and reception honoring the youth, and publicly acknowledging Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and joining First Presbyterian Church.

This class meets on Sundays from 9:45-10:45 a.m. in the Christian Life Center.
