I know it's been a little cold outside and the spring fever bug might be biting some of us but, no need to worry. February is one of the months when we have some of our prettiest flowers growing and that’s just when you need them the most. No winter blues here! We’ve grown beautiful blooming bulbs such as tulips, daffodils and hyacinths. We also have fresh orchids, cyclamen, African violets, and pansies. How about celebrating Valentine’s Day in style stopping by for a special gift for that special person you need to remember? Yes, Cupid strikes again Tuesday, February 14th. Once again, don't worry because we've got you covered. And if you visit our greenhouses this month, you'll be covered in blooms, too.

• Mist indoor plants. This increases humidity and helps prevent the foliage from drying out.
  Better yet, bring a new green foliage plant home and add some fresh oxygen into the house.
   
• Turn over your compost pile or start a new one.
   
• Trim back ornamental grasses removing all the brown stems before their new growth begins.
   
• Enjoy nature indoors. Pick camellia blooms and float them in glass bowls filled with water inside your home and office.
   
• Roses can be pruned this month but, be careful not to cut back more than a third of the wood and always remove dead or diseased canes.
   
• Continue to de-flower old pansy blooms and fertilize them with Jack Peter’s Blossom Booster to encourage new growth.
