Pathway to Hope: Support groups and education for the individual and family experiencing major depression, panic-anxiety disorders and other mental illnesses. For more information, please contact Jan Graham at 913-780-4353.
Support Groups: Parish Care is open to ideas for support groups. For example, caregivers of loved ones with Alzheimer's Disease may find solace and strength sharing with others who understand the trials, joys and sorrows. Your suggestions are welcome.
Stephen Ministry: Stephen Ministers are people from the congregation who have been trained and are supervised to do one-on-one caring for those experiencing difficult times. Stephen Ministers are men and women who are available to meet with you on a weekly basis to listen in love and confidentiality, and to support you as you listen for God's will in your life. Hospitalization Follow-Up: If you would like for someone to visit you in your home following hospitalization or any other health related event, please call Pastor Tom Bailey or Pastor Joyce Kochersperger in the the church office at 913-859-0111.
Blood Pressure Screening: Every Sunday you can stop by room 208 (coat room) by the west entrance to the Celebration Center for a FREE blood pressure check.
Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug Abuse Prevention: Check out the new Osborne Prevention Resource Library at the Regional Prevention Center of Johnson and Wyandotte Counties, 1125 W. Spruce, Olathe, KS. Pick-up information on alcohol, tobacco, and other drug abuse in the Parish Care information center. Health Referral Services: Brochures are available with information on how to contact healthcare services. Parish Care members will be available to help find the healthcare services you need. Advance Directives are also available. Please contact Janice Losey at 913-768-8538.
Emergency Preparedness: First-Aid kits are available in the church office, second and third floor coffee cabinets, the nursery and kitchen. An Emergency Preparedness Plan is being developed for the safety of the congregation. CPR and First Aid classes are provided each year. Watch the bulletin for dates. An automatic electrical defibrillator is available in the white emergency cabinet mounted on the south wall at the west end of the main hallway (by the Stephen Ministry banner).
Medical Equipment Supply Program: Medical equipment supplies are loaned out free of charge. If you're in need of medical equipment such as chairs, walkers, crutches, wheelchairs, etc. please contact Janice Losey at 913-768-8538.
