CompanionsCompanions on the Journey Grief Support Group

Monday, August 14, 6:30-8:30p, Holy Apostles School Library (Enter Door 16 – School Main Office)

You are most welcome to join Holy Apostles Grief Support Group, Companions on the Journey. For the month of August, there will not be a grief support session at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.  We will still hold the grief support session at Holy Apostles.  At our August session, we will feature a guest speaker from Stillwaters Support Center, Mr. Aaron Jonasen MS, NCC, who will speak on “Coping Strategies While Working Through Grief.”

This will be an opportunity for you to share your story of grief (sharing is optional) in a safe and supportive environment.  We offer comfort, friendship, and many resources (books, pamphlets, etc.).

Our grief support group meets on the second Monday of the month from 6:30-8:30 pm in the School Library at Holy Apostles, or the second Wednesday of the month from 1:00-3:00 pm in the Reflection Room at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. Let us walk as companions with each other.

Holy Apostles and Elizabeth Ann Seton Parishes

vbs 2017

During the week of July 17-21, Holy Apostles and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton collaborated to bring 132 children from our parish communities to step back in time with the Apostle Paul and experience what life was like in first century Rome.  It was an amazing week as children and leaders visited Paul and the early Christians in the Underground Church, made crafts in the Marketplace, played games, made new friends, participated in Family Time, and praised and worshiped our God through song!  God is Good!

THANK YOU to all of our amazing volunteers for their commitment to our program.  VBS would not happen without the dedication and creativity of these individuals! Praise the Lord!

Save the Date for next year’s VBS, July 16-20, 2018.  Registration will open in April 2018 and space will be limited.

Camp Vista 2017!

Over  100 people attended Camp Vista in Dundee, WI on July 26 - 30. Recreation activities throughout the week included games, such as water balloon volleyball, swimming, and relay races. The mornings included great praise and worship music and late nights of fellowship were spent around the campfire. On Saturday evening, groups performed skits involving the week's theme of DiscipleShip. Several group and individual activities were held around this theme also:

· The different parts of a boat can are representative of Christ in our lives. For example, the keel provides stability and direction and the sail provides movement

· The faith community is like a “fleet” of ships

· These “DiscipleShip” practices align with the mission at Holy Apostles.

Delicious meals were prepared by a dedicated food committee, many laughs were had, and all had the opportunity to create a craft to bring home to remember the week. Finally, Fr. Don celebrated Mass with Cedar Lake in the backdrop.

The next Vista Event is a Fall Outing on Sunday, October 1 at Fox River Park.  Mark your calendars for next year’s Camp Vista: July 25-29, 2018. Email holyapostlesvista@gmail.com to learn more and get connected with this group.

Help Provide a Meal

We're dedicated to providing meals to the Hebron House supported programs serving the homeless men in Waukesha County.

Our parish is providing meals eight times a month on Wednesdays and Saturdays.  These meals need to feed 16 to 18 adult men.  Volunteers prepare a meal at home, deliver the meal around 6 pm and greet the men that are there.
