Children’s Liturgy of Word
Present the Sunday readings and guide the reflection on the scriptures for children in grades 1-5, up to two weekends a month.
Breakfast in Bethlehem
Provides for an annual Christmas pageant for children to act out the Christmas Story. Gathers the children and directs them in acting out a pageant of the Christmas story. Also needed is someone to coordinate a punch and cookie reception that follows the event.
Catechist
Program runs September through May; lessons planned and organized for you.
3K-5K-Teaches 3, 4 & 5 year olds twice a month.
Grades 1-6 – Teaches religious education to a class of 10-15 children on Saturday or Sunday.
Grades 7-8 – Leads a small group of junior high students, monthly on Tuesdays.
1st Reconciliation – Prepares children grade 2 and above for this sacrament. Leads one small group session.
1st Eucharist – Prepares children grade 2 and above for this sacrament. Leads two small group sessions.
Substitute Catechist
Must be ready on short notice for PreK-K, Grades 1-6, Grades 7-8.
Catechist Aide
Assists catechist in classroom; grades 1-6.
Prayer Aide
Helps children learn their prayers; grades 1-6.
Service Assistant
Facilitates service projects with the students; grades 7-8.
Catechist: Grades 9-10; Basic Belief/Christian Morality
Guides and assists the youth in a clear presentation of the major areas of Catholic doctrine.
Catechist: Confirmation
Guides and assists youth in an intense year of prayer, study, sharing, and service for those willing to complete the sacrament of initiation in the Catholic Church.
Community Service Facilitator
Coordinates and schedules community service opportunities for the candidates in the confirmation program, ensuring the participation in such.
Liturgical Service Facilitator
Coordinates and schedules liturgical ministries with the Music and Liturgy Ministry for the candidates in the confirmation program, ensuring the participation in such.
Service Facilitator
Coordinates and schedules service projects for Basic Beliefs and Christian Morality programs.
Peer Minister
Assists and supports youth in the program. Open to confirmed youth of the parish
Basic Belief/Christian Morality Facilitator – grades 9-10
Confirmation Facilitator – grades 11 and up
Safe Environment Staff
Ensures safety with presence in the small group environment in the home while catechist(s), peer ministers and participants meet.
Small Group Host
Provides one’s home for a small group to gather on a mutually agreed upon basis.
CYM Sports Ministry
Plans and implements girls’ basketball, boys’ basketball, or coed volleyball teams, coaches, practices.
Coordinator –Basketball
Coordinator-Volleyball
Coach/Chaperone – Participates as a coach or chaperone for girls’ basketball, boys’ basketball, co-ed volleyball for a season.
Work Camp Adult Leader
Prepares with the youth and accompanies them to the work camp site, fully participates in all monthly activities at the parish, during travel and at the work camp site.
Marriage Ministry
Plans and implements formation and enrichment opportunities for couples whom are already married.
Marriage Preparation Ministry
Guides engaged couples through an assessment tool that is created to foster open communication and help them to better evaluate their readiness for marriage. Welcomes engaged couples into one’s home, explains and administers the FOCCUS (Facilitating Open Couple Communication, Understanding & Study) process.
RCIA (Rites of Initiation for Christian Adults)
Gives ritual support to adults and youth over the age of seven to prepare for initiation into the Catholic Church.
Team Member - Assists by leading reflections on the Sunday Gospel and/or participates in the ongoing discussion about our faith.
Parish Sponsor -Welcomes, offers prayer support, and attends catechetical sessions as a faith companion to an individual interested in becoming Catholic.
