Find out how you can help a child experience Christian education...
Immanuel Lutheran School Education Foundation
Teaching children to know and follow Christ is what our Lord commands of us. Immanuel took that command seriously by establishing Immanuel Lutheran School in 1870. In 2000, the Immanuel Lutheran School Education Foundation (ILSEF) joined in that partnership and amazing miracles continue to happen.
The Immanuel Lutheran School Education Foundation was formed to financially support the school’s educational and community service programs, and to assure that the school and its programs continue into the future. For more than six generations, many lives have been influenced by Christian teachers, as well as by graduates of the school. Immanuel Lutheran School is focused on Christian education, high-quality academics and service.
In the past year:
- 33 students received scholarships for the 2006-2007 school year. These students would not have been able to afford a Christian Education without the generosity of the Foundation donors.
- 425 students were in classes learning about Christ and receiving a high-quality academic Christian education.
- 27 Christian teachers cared for the children and their parents.
- 70 children enrolled in our Discovery Camp program this summer to provide special experiences and field trips in a Christian environment.
By donating to the ILSEF, you help make it possible for children to have all the advantages of a high-quality Christian education and the even greater advantage of being in a Christian family that loves and cares for them. Your contributions and your commitment to Christian education make a difference today, next year, and into eternity.
A recent study found that children trained in religious teachings are:
- less likely to skip school, be expelled or be suspended
- more likely to have strict parents
- less likely to smoke or start smoking
- more likely to wear seatbelts
- less likely t use drugs
- more likely to participate in sports and student government
- less likely to participate in crimes
- more likely to remain committed to Christ throughout their lifetime
Purpose and Mission of ILSEF
- Secure the future and outreach of the school in meeting the needs of God’s people
- Give donors an opportunity to share the blessings God has given them, to experience the joy of giving, and to give them a vehicle where their gift can enable the Lord’s work in perpetuity.
- Spread Christian principles and help mold the lives of children, families and community.
The foundation’s planned giving services provide opportunities for people or organizations to contribute outright or pledge gifts to meet their personal, family or business philanthropic objectives. The gifts are typically allowed to grow so that the needs of future generations can be addressed. They also can be earmarked for a specific immediate need, as is the case with the Thomas Lorenz Scholarship Fund and the Tiffany Schneider Scholarship Fund, that both pay tuition for those students whose families cannot.
The Foundation enables individuals, couples and organizations to use sound financial estate planning to make lifetime or deferred gifts to the school. We have legal and financial experts that can advise and assist you with the details of giving gifts of cash, physical assets or bequests, and ensure that your gifts are used as you want them to be. If a specific project is designated, monitors will assure that your desires are carried out.
Examples of gifts include:
- Cash or appreciated stock
- A bequest through a will
- Remaining assets in a retirement plan
- Cash or appreciated assets in exchange for lifetime income
- A residence or a vacation home with the retained right to use the property during one’s lifetime
- Income through appreciated assets for a period of years, with the assets transferring back to the donor or the donor’s heirs
