Other Adult Ministries

BIBLE/BOOK STUDIES
Special Bible Study opportunities are offered throughout the year at times other than Sunday mornings.  Bowles and Disciple Bible Study programs begin each fall and continue through May.  The KUMC Academy of Faith Development offers 4-10 week study opportunities, with a Spring and a Fall semester.  Additional short-term studies may be offered throughout the year.

FELLOWSHIP GROUPS
KUMC currently has two active "fellowship groups" - groups whose primary purpose is helping members of the faith community better know each other, though they may also engage in mission projects or classes from time to time.

  • Carpe Diem is a young family group (generally aged 25-45).  Monthly activities either include child care at the church or are family-friendly.
  • Just for Fun is a senior group (generally aged 60+).  Monthly get-togethers vary from dinners at church to day trips within the community.
  • KUMC ARK is a group of 20 and 30 year olds who gather every other week for faith learning and fellowship.  Please contact Emily Stokes for more information.

KUM QUILT
This is a creative ministry combining spiritual service with fellowship.  This group creates quilts stitched with love and prayerful reflection.  Everyone is invited to attend; beginners are welcome!

SACRED SPACE
A prayerful, contemplative time of mid-week refueling, held each Wednesday at 9:00 a.m.  All are welcome.

RETREAT OPPORTUNITIES

MEN
All men are invited to join together for growth and fellowship at the annual Men's Retreat and Fishing Trip, held in the early fall.  Men will have an opportunity to relax, study and participate in a variety of activities.

WOMEN
KUMC's annual Women's Retreat is held in each spring.  There are opportunities for spiritual awakening, lively discussion, worship services, and lots of fun and fellowship.  Our Associate Pastor, Sue Mitch, is usually the leader. Sign-ups for our Spring 2012 Women's Retreat, at the Mercy Retreat Center will start in the early spring.

MEN'S FELLOWSHIP GROUP
The men meet Thursday mornings for breakfast at Denny's (10575 Watson Rd at Lindbergh), 7:00-8:00 a.m.  Various programs are sponsored throughout the year, such as retreats, trips to sporting events, and events with children.

UNITED METHODIST WOMEN
The women meet monthly as a Unit for a meal and a program.  A variety of small groups (circles) with special interests meet once a month on various days and times.

SUPPORT GROUPS
Divorce, parenting, caregivers, and other support groups are offered on an as-needed basis.
