Snack/Nutrition Objectives

 

I.  The main objective is to provide a healthy light snack which meets the guidelines set forth by the State Department of Health for daily nutritional needs. An intrinsic benefit is also achieved by providing opportunities for developing social growth.

II.    These objectives can be accomplished by:

A. Each snack must provide at least (2) items from the four food groups.
B. The children have the opportunity to learn about foods and proper nutrition.
C. Responsibilities are learned and shared by assigning daily helpers.
D. Alternating seating arrangements to promote socialization between different groups/individuals.
E. Reinforcing thematic units by coordinating snack menu items.
F. Teach and learn proper table manners.
