Mark P. Thomas

mthomas@laduechapel.org

Mark is our pastor and head of staff. He came to Ladue Chapel in the fall of 2005, after previously serving congregations in Dayton, Ohio, and Port Huron, Michigan. He received his undergraduate degree from Duke University and his Master of Divinity degree and his Doctor of Ministry degree from Princeton Theological Seminary. He is but one of the fifth generation of his family to serve as pastors in the Presbyterian Church, with a sister and brother currently serving churches in the PCUSA. He has a deep and abiding love for the church as the people of God, as the body of Christ, and as the institution through which we, as followers of Christ, try to live out our faith.

Mark and his wife Holly have two daughters, Jennifer and Kim. Jenny graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Dance, and Kim is a junior at Duke University. Holly is a graduate of Denison University, and received her master’s degree in Student Personnel and Higher Education Administration from Ohio State.

Mark likes to work in the yard, putter in his workshop, play golf, explore with Holly, watch Duke Basketball, Michigan Football, Cardinal Baseball, Red Wing Hockey, and sing in the Chancel Choir.

Mark’s responsibilities include leadership of the ministry of Word and Sacrament, administrative oversight of the staff, moderating the Session, resourcing our Worship Ministries, Mission Ministries, and Member Ministries, and providing spiritual guidance and ministerial vision for our church.
