In this study, we will look at the life and teachings of Jesus in the most highly regarded and quoted gospel, Matthew. Matthew emphasizes how Jesus came to fulfill the Old Testament and was the Messiah for both Jews and Gentiles. He structured his book around 5 great discourses which provide more extensive collections of Jesus' teachings than are found in any other gospel. The Book of Matthew opens with Jesus being named "Immanuel" and closes with Jesus' promise that He will be with us to the very end of the age.

James, Jesus' own brother, started out as a skeptic. See how one glimpse of the resurrected Savior turned an unbeliever into a disciple. Bible scholars compare James to the prophet Amos. In other ways, James more closely resembles the Book of Proverbs than any other New Testament book. This Beth Moore study will dive into the Book of James to see what God has to say about topics such as: joy, hardship, faith, reversal of fortunes for rich and poor, wisdom, gifts from above, single-mindedness, the dangers of the tongue, humility and prayer.
