Guatemala

LGCC is sending a team on a Summer MISSION TRIP to GUATEMALA (July 26-Aug. 2, 2019). We are partnering with Mission Impact -- an organization that has been serving the under resourced areas of Guatemala for over 12 years. Our church has supported missionaries there (George & Kathy Dostal) for many years and we have sent groups there before to partner with them in their ministry. They are located just outside of Antigua in San Pedro El Alto. This is a long term partnership.

We will be serving in local clinics, schools, food kitchens, and building stoves for those in need as well as building relationships, and spreading God’s love. We will focus on the areas of education, health, nutrition, community development, appropriate technology, and spiritual formation. Some of us will be working with local families in rural communities to build fuel-efficient stoves to reduce the amount of smoke in the home and the related respiratory sickness; and some may be teaching and connecting with children in a school owned by Mission Impact in the very poor community of Santa Maria De Jesus. We will also assist teachers in their classrooms as they empower children. We may also do some teaching and evangelism and homeless ministry there as well. Mission Impact will use our talents, gifts and efforts to bless the people there that they are already ministering to.

Our purpose is to fulfill the great commission as we partner with missionaries to serve those in need and make disciples of all nations. We pray that this experience will grow us individually and corporately (as a church) in the areas of servanthood and missions not only just globally but locally as well. It is our prayer that thru the process of preparation, team building and serving in Guatemala that we will return with a greater vision and ability to do the same wherever God has planted us or calls us.
