Adult Sunday School Classes

MUMC Adult Education Sunday School Classes

JustFaith - 8 a.m.
Room 312

JustFaith is a course of study that offers a life-changing experience.  It is an interactive study of the Christian's call to address the needs of the world.  The various books, videos, guest speakers and border-crossing events call the participants to become agents of change for Social Justice.  The class helps us understand the needs of those on the edge and provide ways in which participants might cause those needs to be met.  The material presented empowers and transforms participants to become voices for the voiceless and agents of God's Good News to the poor.  The course is 30 weeks long and meets for 2 hours weekly.  Work outside of class is about 2 hours per week.  Please contact Paco Canellas at 636-256-7746 for more information.

Journey Through the Bible - 9 a.m.

This group is composed of people of all ages and life situations brought together by a desire to study the Bible without any preconditions of experience or knowledge.  Together we talk our way through the Bible at a leisurely pace, one book at a time, alternating between Old and New Testaments.  Our textbook is the Bible; however, we use the Methodist curriculum Journey Through the Bible as an aid to our study.  Our discussion leader is Rev. Steve Harbaugh, MUMC Director of Adult Education, who can be contacted at 636-532-0282.

Spiritual Pilgrims -  9 a.m.
Room 221

This is an exciting spiritual pilgrimage through time for adults of all ages, married or single, via short studies of the great theologians, philosophers, and writers since the dawn of Christianity.  We discuss, debate, and learn from these studies.  The diversity of the class, and the sharing of different ideas, beliefs, and backgrounds make for great Christian fellowship and spiritual development as we learn and pray together.  During Lent, we use a theme-based Lenten study. Contact Norma and Merrill Pope 636-458-3338.
