Jewels 4 God – Global Teen Challenge
Tim & Michelle Zello
This ministry provides practical training in making quality handcrafted jewelry to marginalized women and men overseas who have been rescued from the bondage of addiction, the horrors of human trafficking, and death. Our investment in this ministry will provide initial training for women’s centers at 2 locations - Uzbekistan and Siberia.
In these cultures, drug and alcohol abuse contribute to the death rate exceeding the birth rate. Furthermore, women in many ways are considered a piece of property that someone owns, a dowry must be paid before a man will marry – the woman is sold; little or no understanding of what self-worth means - not knowing that she too is special in God’s eyes. The Jewels 4 God training will empower women through learning a vocational skill while providing an income for the women’s centers to become self-sustainable.
A Jewels 4 God promotional DVD is also available. Simply call Tonya at the District Women's Ministries office at 919.965.0225 ext. 237 to request your copy today!
Funds for world missionaries. Every five years, fully appointed world missionaries with the North Carolina District receive an additional $2,500 for the purpose of replacing or purchasing additional necessary household equipment items. At this time, they also receive $500 to replace worn linens and "things" in their household. Newly appointed world missionaries receive $6500 upon their initial departure to the field to assist them in outfitting their new homes overseas.
Funds for general and emergency projects. These include resourcing NC Women in Ministry, a Natural Disaster Urgent Request Fund, and event scholarships for Church Planter's Wives.
Funds for ongoing district ministries. These ministries include HeartMenders (ministry to minister's widows), the Missionettes Department, and the Women's Ministries Department.
