Adult Bible Fellowship

Adult Bible Fellowship Invitation

Our Church Is Growing!

And we would like to invite you and your family to come grow with us!

Here at Oak Ridge Baptist Church what we used to call “Sunday School” we now call Adult Bible Fellowship. Why the name change? Because most adults think Sunday School is just for kids. But Bible study and fellowship for all ages is the centerpiece of what we do in the hour before worship here at Oak Ridge, hence, the new term—Adult Bible Fellowship (ABF). Our pastor has said that if you can be in church for only one hour each week, the Bible Fellowship class should be that one hour!

We want to personally invite you and your family to join us Sunday mornings at 8:30 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. at 26569 Hanna Road for an hour of Bible study and friendly fellowship.

We ALL need small group Bible study and fellowship. We all face challenges everyday—relational challenges, financial challenges, physical, and spiritual challenges. Bible study and fellowship will prepare us to successfully face every challenge!

We are praying that you will join us THIS Sunday!

The goal of our ABF is to create a Sunday morning bible study and fellowship environment that will be attractive to our community while maintaining our focus on biblical core values.

What are our values?

Values are deep-seated standards that influence almost every aspect of our lives. Values give direction to every decision we make including our moral judgments, our responses to others, our commitments to personal goals, and our commitments to organizational goals.

The CORE VALUES of ABF

  • Interactive Bible study
    • Bible based
    • Discussion driven
  • Fellowship
    • Opportunities for social interaction
  • Organized into groups for care
    • Prayer support
    • Awareness of spiritual struggles
      and that Life sometimes hurts
  • Involvement in ministry
    • In the class
    • In the church
    • In the world

The mission of our Adult Bible Fellowship is to be actively involved in assisting the transforming work of God in bringing LIFE CHANGE to people.

Adult Bible Fellowship

Why should you join us for Adult Bible Fellowship?

Here is a true story from one of our Adult Bible Fellowship members:

“We talk about Sunday being our ‘Family Reunion Time at ORBC.’ Over the past several months, with all our family has been through, this has been extremely evident in our families' lives.

“Last night as I watched my young son being strapped and taped down to the board and loaded into the ambulance, my head was not too clear. On my way home to get some of my son's things, the only clear thing in my mind was that I needed to have someone from church that my son knows come to the hospital with me.

“Coincidently, his Sunday School teacher, lives right across the street from us. I knocked on his door and he was still in his AWANA shirt and name tag. I simply said, ‘Jacob's in the hospital. I need someone to go with me.’ Without hesitation, he put his shoes on and got in the truck with me.

“I was so glad he came. My son needed to see another face that wasn't his family. He loves his Sunday School teacher and he did a great job of humoring my son and keeping him focused on something other than his pain.

“In short, if anyone questions why they would want to join our family at ORBC, all they have to do is ask us or look at the example provided to our family.”
