Welcome
Founded in 1772, the Old Presbyterian Meeting House is a historic and vibrant congregation in the heart of Old Town Alexandria. We are an inclusive, justice-seeking congregation of more than 1,000 members. We see ourselves as a community of people who have been called by God to worship, study, and serve together as a visible sign of what God intends for all of humanity.

Whether you are a life-long Presbyterian or just beginning to explore the Christian faith, we encourage you to learn more about us. There may well be something of interest to you here. If you are looking for a new church home, we hope you will visit us soon!

It's Not Too Late to Catch the Spirit!

If you haven't already, please consider making a pledge to the Spirit of 1772, the Meeting House capital campaign. In the spirit of those who stepped out in faith to build this church for those who would follow, we ask that you give now: to repair and protect our historic buildings and prepare a solid financial foundation for generations to come.

Take Part in Service Sunday on June 2

Service Sunday is a wonderful opportunity to share your time and talents, and make a positive impact on the local community.  Volunteers are needed for several projects in Alexandria.

Finding Solutions in our Community

The Mission Ministry is challenging the Meeting House congregation to come up with innovative ways to find solutions to existing community service problems.  A total of $1,000 can be allocated for one or more Challenge grants.  Click here for more information and to fill out the simple one-page proposal form.
