Front Cross 2

At Parkway Presbyterian Church, we believe that every person is a child of God and beloved by God.  Our response to that love is to love God and love our neighbor.

Our Sunday worship focuses on God’s love for us and how we respond to that love. We give thanks to God for life, for each other, and especially for the gift of Jesus Christ. We enter and leave worship under a free-standing cross. We pray for the world and one another. We read the scriptures, study and ponder how best to serve God faithfully in our lives. We respond to God’s grace and love by committing ourselves to live faithfully and joyfully in all our relationships.

We are committed to sharing God’s grace in engaging ways, crossing generational, economic, gender, racial, and ethnic barriers.

Mission Statement

In joyful response to God's love for us in Jesus Christ, Parkway Presbyterian Church's mission is "Calling and Equipping Disciples for the Kingdom of God."

Presbyterian Polity and The Session
Elder Ordination 2012Presbyterian, besides being a Christian denomination, also describes the way the church is organized and makes decisions.  The Greek word in the New Testament meaning "Elder" is the basis of the name Presbyterian.  Each church elects from among its members certain individuals to serve as Ruling Elders.  These Elders are responsible for the ministry of the church from setting a budget, to deciding the form of worship to choosing which mission projects to undertake.  Parkway has twelve elders, each of whom serves for three years.
