We Value.....
1. Glorifying Our Lord
Man's chief end is to glorify God. As a church body, it is our privilege and delight to make the pursuit of God's glory our number one priority. It is the motivation and guiding influence behind everything we do.
Rom. 15:6; 1 Cor. 6:20; 2 Thes. 1:11-12
2. Knowing God's Word
We accept the Word of God as our final authority in all matters of faith and practice, and because all of Scripture is about Jesus Christ we believe in the absolute sufficiency of God's Word to make people wise unto salvation and to equip them for every good work. Therefore we will strive to study, preach, teach, and live out God's Word.
2 Tim. 3:14-4:2; Luke 24:44-47; Heb. 4:12, 13
3. Worshipping God Together
We were made to worship God, who alone is worthy of our worship. We have been called out of the bondage of sin and called together into God's presence to worship Him. Our corporate times of worship are a foretaste of the great wedding feast where all those He has called will join together forever.
Exod. 4:22, 23; Deut. 6:13; Rev. 4:11
4. Living In Community
One of the most amazing characteristics of the Church is that it can be both diverse and unified at the same time. We cherish this diversity and acknowledge (despite our differences) we can live together in community, supporting and caring for one another, because of our common belief in the essentials of our faith.
Acts 2:44; 1 Cor. 12:12 & 25; 1 Thes. 5:11
5. Following After Christ
We value biblical discipleship, which is, forsaking everything to follow Jesus Christ. Discipleship is involved in what it means to be a Christian.
Deut. 6:5; Matt. 10:25a; Luke 9:23, 24
6. Building Strong Families
We value strengthening the families of our church through clear biblical instruction defining and guiding marriage and parenting relationships. Biblical families will reflect the image of God.
Eph. 5:22-6:4; Col. 3:18-21; 2 Tim. 3:16-17
7. Training Our Children
We value the gift of children within our church and desire to raise-up children in the biblical understanding of God's redemption in Jesus Christ. We do this through an authentic example and scriptural instruction, for the purpose of salvation. This comes primarily through the home with the church community's active involvement.
Deut. 6:4-9; Eph. 5:18-6:4; 2 Tim. 3:10-17
8. Engaging In Prayer
Through prayer we communicate with God as children with our Father. We come at His invitation confessing our sin, declaring our love and submitting our requests, knowing that He will respond in ways that will glorify Himself and bless us.
1 John. 1:9; Rev. 4:11; Phil. 4:6
9. Sharing The Gospel
We value sharing the good news of the coming of the King-Jesus Christ. We realize our place in redemptive history -- to take the gospel to our community and to the ends of the earth. Therefore we seek to give people opportunities to "come hear" the gospel and we seek to equip our people to go tell the gospel.
Acts 1:1-8; 1 Cor. 15:3-8; Matt. 28:18-20
10. Practicing God's Grace
We value growing in our understanding, through His Word and through His Son, of God's unmerited favor so that we would be thankful for His mercy, demonstrating our gratitude by extending grace to others.
Matt. 18:23-34; Eph. 2:4-7; Phil. 2:5-8
11. Equipping For Service
Taking the Biblical mandate seriously, we strive to train and equip all of our members so they can grow in their faith and be effective workers and leaders for the Kingdom of God.
Eph. 4:11-12; Col. 1:28; 2 Tim 3:16-17
12. Supporting This Ministry
We are to live out the Christian life in and through the Church, specifically, the local Church, which is the body of Christ. God has prepared good works for every believer to do. Jesus, the Head of the whole body, brings believers together to perform their role as His body through the local Church.
Eph. 2:10; 4:12-16; Col. 1:18
