Maturing Churches Take New Steps with Vision 20/20 in Sight

Man sharing the story of Jesus

The Maturing Churches Team still has its eyes on the goal of Vision 20/20. As a matter of fact, during a spring planning retreat, new strategies were laid out that should prove beneficial to existing churches in their task of fulfilling the Great Commission. Learn More »

The emphasis of God's Plan for Sharing (GPS) will be highlighted once again through a special day called Soul Winning Commitment Day (SWCD) on Sunday, October 2, 2011. It is a day that each SBCV church will be challenged to encourage believers to reach the lost for Christ.

Maturing Churches is focused on supporting church leadership
and strengthening existing churches.

The purpose of the Maturing Church strategy is to assist the local church in insuring good congregational health and to encourage steady growth. Church health strategists and associates are deployed throughout the state to work in close relationship with ministerial staff, lay leaders, and church members in providing resources, training events, and specialized equipping opportunities.

The New Testament church had everything in common, shared their resources, increased in salvations, grew in their spiritual walk, and scattered in order to carry forth the Gospel. Even though the strategies and process may look different today, the message and the goal are the same—to be a healthy, growing, and maturing church.
