In God We Trust…these words for now are still printed on our dollar bills and on our coins.  As followers of Christ “In God We Trust” should be our anthem. Our very conversion begins with an act of faith…a trust that God will do exactly what He said He would do in His word...That if we would confess our sins that He will forgive us and clean us up from all unrighteousness…that even though the stains in our life are blatant and seemingly permanent, he would make them disappear…we would clean and white as snow in His eyes…That is an act of faith.  We take what He says at face value…that He won’t turn us away…that He won’t ignore us…that a repentant heart touches Him. In God We Trust.

The Bible says that without faith it is impossible to please God I want to please God. As I look inward and reflect on my life, I really do believe in most areas that I do trust Him. Most areas...

I trust Him with my finances.  I’ve lived with my wife and children in government housing three different times.  Even though the pay check was small I always made sure that my tithe was the top priority as far as my money was concerned.  I chose to trust that He would take care of us.  We never went hungry.  We always had clothes to wear.  I always had a car to get me where I needed to go.

I trust Him with my life.  He has miraculously spared me from death on several occasions.  Several times He has healed my body in an instant…a supernatural touch from His hand in one quick moment…never to suffer again from that sickness.  Praise His Name!

Most areas I trust Him.  But that’s not good enough for God is it?  He wants complete abandon…total confidence placed in Him.

I watched How Great is Our God with Louie Giglio.  He talked about the vastness of the universe…the size of stars…how huge they are…in Psalms it says that God breathed them into existence…just His breath made something so spectacular!  I am so small but God is so huge!  And if he is powerful enough to toss a star into a galaxy just by breathing…can’t He take care of my needs?  Do I need to tell this all powerful God how He should fix my life or how He should deal with my problems?  As if He needed my instruction.

In God We Trust…In this big huge God…we trust…He’s very aware of what we need.  He’s very aware of our hurts and our desperate situations.  He is literally in the boat with us on the stormy sea…so we aren’t going down!  That doesn’t mean that he will deliver us from every situation…that doesn’t mean that He will end every story the way we desire.  What it does mean is that His will is what is going to be done.  His kingdom come…His will be done…on earth as it is in heaven!  He is bigger than every plan of the enemy of our souls!  He will never leave us or forsake us!  There is nothing, nothing satan (Yes I know I didn’t capitalize this name…he doesn’t deserve it.) can do to yank us out of the hand of God!  We are the Lord’s!

In God We Trust!  Psalm 56:11
