Adult Christian Education occurs on Sunday mornings from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. as well as other times during the week. Some classes are ongoing, some are finite-length book studies, and some are video-based discussion groups. A current list of offerings is posted in The Gathering Place each week. We hope that you can find a group that's right for you.
What kinds of classes have we offered at SSPC in the past?
- Book studies on The Shack, Women of the Bible, Crazy Love, Love Wins: A Book About Heaven, Hell, and the Fate of Every Person Who Ever Lived, Simply Christian, Allah, A Christian Response, and more.
- Relational studies for women aimed at cultivating friendships, becoming "big girls" in Christ, achieving balance in everyday life.
- In-depth Bible studies written by Beth Moore on Esther and David. In the fall of 2017, we are studying a book by Charles Swindoll entitled "The Greatest Life of All Jesus."
Adult Bible Study
The Bible Study class faithfully follows the "International Lesson Series," studying the entire Bible in a seven year cycle. Each lesson is self-contained, making it easy to join in at any point during the year. The class includes a wide range of men and women, older and younger, those who have studied Scripture for years and those who are new to Bible study. All are welcome to come, learn, share, and maybe even laugh!
Adult Forum Class
Adult Forum is a series of topic driven classes. Some topics are covered in a single Sunday; others require four to six weeks. There is a balance of Bible study, Theology, Mission education, family or personal life concerns, and "hot" topics. This class is often taught by our professional staff or by outside speakers. The teaching/learning style ranges from lecture to group experience.
