Welcome

Urban Ministries of Wake County is an interfaith organization that strives to alleviate the effects of poverty in Wake County by meeting people’s basic needs for food, shelter and healthcare, providing services that promote self-sufficiency, building awareness of the issues of poverty within the larger community and maximizing volunteer support and in-kind donations to leverage financial support.

The Helen Wright Center of Urban Ministries of Wake County works to reduce homelessness by providing temporary housing for 250 women each year and offering basic needs and case management to help homeless women move toward independence and permanent housing.

Volunteers from St Francis parish prepare and serve a hot breakfast to between 20-45 women on the first Sunday of each month. If you would like to volunteer, contact Sharon King or 676-3897.
