The Boys In the Back of the O.T.

newbiblestudy A Study of the Minor Prophets/ The Book of Amos

“’Minor Prophets,’ the title given to the last twelve books of the English Old Testament, is an unfortunate label. Though much shorter than Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel, these twelve prophetic books proclaim significant messages, the theological import of which is by no means minor.” Robert B. Chisholm, Jr.

Join us as we begin a new series on the Minor Prophets or “the boys in the back” as my Sunday school teacher use to say! We will begin with a thorough study of the book of Amos. The teachings concerning social injustice are as relevant today as they were in Old Testament times and will challenge each of us to love God by loving our neighbors. Are we addicted to comfort? Have we developed a love of luxu-ry? Have we lost sensitive compassion for the poor? These questions and more will be addressed in this line-by-line discussion study. Taught by Lisa Wells.

So... You Think You Know the Story

biblestoriesFor Girls: 3rd grade - 9th grade

If you were asked to tell your favorite Bible story, could you?

  • Do you really know WHO played a role in that story?
  • Do you know exactly WHAT happened?
  • Do you know WHEN it took place?
  • Do you know WHERE on earth the story happened?
  • Do you know WHY God inspired the writer to include it in the Bible
  • Do you know HOW to explain the meaning?

Many of us know some of our favorite story. Most of us would have difficulty answering all of the above questions. Learning to answer who, what, when, where, why and how will be our goal as we spend seven sessions studying well known Bible stories. Join in the adventure to discover ALL the story. Taught by Beckie Potterfield and Debbie Trussell.

Monday Nights - February 2nd - March 16th
5:45 - 7:45 - A light supper will be served
