Mission Statement and Core Values

St. Luke's on the Lake Overview
In July 2004, we called the third Rector in our 44 year history, the Reverend Michael Wyckoff, following the retirement in 2002 of Father Roland Timberlake after 20 years of faithful service as our Rector. In preparation for our search for a new Rector, the following were created to express who we are....

Our Mission Statement

God calls us to be a community in Christ
and to be Christ to the world.

Our Core Values
The Church:  As a community of believers, we are diverse in worship, yet united in mission. We hold to the traditional theology of the historical Church, and we are sustained and nourished by the Word and Sacraments.
Family:  As part of God's family, we desire to be a safe harbor; we welcome all people to join us in our journey of faith. St. Luke's on the Lake is our spiritual home: a place of stability, healing, fellowship, and renewal, experienced through Christ alone.
Country:  As Christians blessed by liberty and the freedom of worship that is our heritage, we pray for and support our nation and all those in authority.
Calling and Commitment:  In recognition of our calling, we are committed to stewardship, Biblical education for all ages, and discipleship-the raising up of Christians to be the leaders and servants of those who follow.
Love in Action:  In response to our Lord's command to love our neighbor as ourselves, we reach out to our community and the world through a variety of programs that are both practical and spiritual.
Living Expectantly:  Prayer and worship are central to our life as a community that believes in and experiences God's miraculous power.
