“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord; The fruit of the womb is a reward."
-- Psalm 127:3
At St. Mary's, we value the education of our young people. Our focus, both in our youth education programs and in St. Mary's Christian School, is to provide a Christian foundation to the development of each child, thereby strengthening the larger culture with Christian citizens who will be the leaders of tomorrow.
Sunday School is for children pre-school through 6th grade. The children attend a different teaching workshop each week for four- to six-week series. Teachers teach the workshops and help with the group activities, which can involve crafts, games, and music.
Kids for Christ (KFC) is for young people in 4th through 6th grades, who meet at the church on the second Sunday evenings of each month. Special events to take place outside of church are planned at that time in addition to the usual food, fun, and games.
Rite 13 is our young adult formation process designed for youth in 7th through 9th grades. Rite 13 meets in the cottage during the first part of the 10:30 a.m. Mass before joining their families for the Eucharist.
Young Life's Lakewood Chapter is a group with which several of our young adults are involved. Click here for more information.
