"I give you a new commandment: Love
one another just as I have loved you.
It is by your love for one another, that
everyone will recognize you as my
disciples." (John 13:34-35)
Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church is a worshipping
servant community dedicated to stewardship, social justice and ministering to our members and to the greater community in the image given to us by Jesus.
This ministry is centered around the sacraments and our acts of faith,
hope, and charity.

Archangel Hall - A Glowing Example of Stewardship!

On August 16, 2014, St. Michael’s new Archangel Hall was officially opened with a celebration mass and dedication ceremony that was attended by an excited group of parishioners, priests, lay ministers, friends and guests. During the Mass, the crucifix that will reside permanently in the hall was blessed and subsequently carried in procession to the Archangel Hall where it was hung for all to admire.

The new state-of-the-art facility houses a middle school gymnasium, team rooms and a multipurpose room. It can also be configured to accommodate drama and performance events as well as overflow masses on major church holidays. Archangel Hall includes stadium style seating for up to 600 people and much needed storage/office space for athletic programs at the school. The facility is designed to meet the needs of students, teachers, athletic programs, faith formation programs and ministry outreach for the St Michael the Archangel Parish Community.

“I am so thankful for the generosity of those who contributed their time, talent and treasure to make Archangel Hall a reality,” says Rev. Doug Reed, Pastor of the St. Michael the Archangel. “Our new facility will open up so many opportunities for the students at St. Michael School and also allow us to meet the increasing demands of our many ministries and our growing parish.”

Women of Wonder Conference Inspires Hundreds!

Women of Wonder

On Saturday, August 16th, the culmination of over two years of planning came together for the Women of Wonder Conference, which attracted hundreds of women from multiple states.  Sponsored by the St. Michael the Archangel Women’s Network Ministry, the daylong conference featured Johnnette Benkovic, renowned national speaker and host of the Women of Grace show on EWTN, as well as Amy Daniels, Director of the Office of Formation and Discipleship for the Archdiocese of Atlanta.

The day began with the celebration of Mass with Monsignor David Brockman, Vicar General of the Diocese of Raleigh as the principal celebrant. Following Mass, attendees were treated to dynamic presentations from Johnnette on the theme “Woman: Her Gifts, Her Call, Her Mission.”  They also enjoyed a sit down catered luncheon as well as a heartwarming presentation by Amy Daniels titled “A Quest for God and a Life of Adventure.”

Billy Atwell, Director of Communications at the Diocese of Raleigh interviewed Ms. Benkovic while she was here. They spoke about authentic femininity, the importance of parents as role models for their children, God's will for our lives, and even shared some news about upcoming events for women and men as part of Women of Grace. Vendors featuring Catholic gifts and resources were available throughout the day. The feedback from participants was extremely positive and many noted that the presentations were “powerful and inspiring.”

Our 2014 BAA Goal Is In Sight...
But we’ve stalled at 98.57% - $6,000 left to go!

As we approach the Thanksgiving season, please consider how easily we can help the poor and needy in North Carolina by contributing to the Bishop’s Annual Appeal!  We have numerous parishioners who have given more than one contribution to this year’s campaign – and we thank you for your generosity! However, we still have nearly 3,500 families who have yet to contribute. With a gift of less than $1.00 from each of these families, we will make our goal.

“A little bit of mercy makes the world less cold and more just.”
- Pope Francis
