St. Michael Parish Pastoral Vision Plan 2013-2016
Christmas Mass Schedule 2013
Year-End Contributions & the 2013 IRA Charitable Gift Rollover
Our parish has been blessed by the generosity of our parishioners this year. Because of your support, our ministries have been able to serve our community and be witnesses to our Faith. As the end of the year approaches, please continue to consider the parish for tax deductible donations in your financial planning. In addition, please be aware that the Pension Protection Act of 2006 was extended through 2013. This means that if you are 70.5 or older, and have funds in an IRA, you are able to transfer those funds to our parish for a general parish donation or towards our Capital Campaign without financial penalty to you, and at the same time, decrease your annual income. More information on the 2013 IRA Charitable Gift Rollover can be found here: IRA Giving Fact Sheet (pdf). As with this and other tax matters, please call upon your tax advisor for appropriate counsel before making a gift decision.
Please contact Ryan Flood at the Diocese of Raleigh for more information on IRA Rollovers. He can be reached at (919) 821-9774 or email: email@example.com
Pastoral Council 2014-2017 Election
Fr. Doug has determined that we do not have enough nominations for a Pastoral Council election. Therefore, the nomination window has been extended until Dec 9th. Please pray over your willingness to be a part of this vital ministry to our parish faith life experience. We are seeking registered parishioners who are at least 18 years of age and in full communion with the Catholic Church. Those interested can download a copy of the Nomination Form. Nominations must be submitted by close of business December 9th. The elections will be held at all masses December 14th and 15th.
Jesse Tree Project
The annual St. Michael Jesse Tree Project provides Christmas gifts to children in need throughout our community. Jesse Trees will be stocked with ornaments to make a child’s Christmas brighter!
There are many ways you can use your time, talent or treasure to make this project another big success.
Questions? Email JesseTree@StMichaelCary.org or call MaryAnn Shea 919-522-0256 or Cindy Rowe 919-622-2295.

St. Michael School’s Jolly Elf Trail Run
Registration has begun for the St. Michael School’s Jolly Elf Trail Run. Details and registration are @ http://jollyelfrun.com
It’s not the size of the gift, but the spirit in which it is given.
The One Faith, One People, Our Future campaign is coming to a close. In the past year, we have raised close to $3,900,000 to expand our local parish facilities, support the 2012/2013 BAA and The Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral for our Diocese. Only $450,000 remains towards reaching the original goal of $4.35MM.
Pledging in this campaign has never been about the amount of the gift, but the sacrifice of your gift. Everyone has been blessed in different ways. The ultimate goal is 100% participation from our parish. Every size gift matters! Your gift is needed and appreciated no matter the amount. Please remember that you can spread your pledge over 3 years. For instance, a $500 pledge over 3 years is only $0.46 a day.
For parishioners who have not pledged yet, we simply ask that you give what you can and pledge before Thanksgiving. Please drop your pledge envelope off at the parish office or in the offertory basket at Mass. Thank you!

Director of Stewardship and Advancement
Transcending Divorce is a support group for anyone who is going through or is already divorced, and in need of guidance on where to go next. This program is designed to help you heal and find hope again while dispelling common misconceptions associated with divorce. Through the 12-week program, participants can mourn the loss of a relationship while learning to navigate the uncertain roads that lie ahead. The group will meet Tuesday evenings from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. beginning April 9, 2013. Anyone interested in registering or learning more can contact Judy Klimchek at email@example.com, or Deacon Mark Westrick at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also call Deacon Mark at 919-468-6108.
Online Giving Now Available!
Our parish now uses an Online Giving system called WeShare. This will allow you to make your donations without writing a check each week. You can set up a recurring weekly or monthly payment, allocate different amounts for our different collections, and view complete, accurate financial records at any time. It saves all of us time and is a win-win for our parish!
Those who wish to continue to use traditional methods of offering may do so, however, we ask that you prayerfully consider Online Giving. If you would like to enroll, please visit www.stmichaelcary.weshareonline.org OR Click the Donate Now button. If you have any questions about the program or about setting up your account, don't hesitate to call our parish office at 468-6128 or 468-6132.
Many people enjoy the modern convenience, safety and reliability of making automatic deposits or transactions through the automated banking system. Now you can make weekly or monthly stewardship contributions through the St. Michael Automated Offering Plan. Simply complete this form and we will do the rest. It’s safe, easy and absolutely free.
