I want to welcome all students to a new year of science adventures in my 7th and 8th grade classes.  I am excited to begin our second year in the Integrated Science series.  I really enjoyed again teaching about rocks and minerals, earthquakes and volcanoes, weather and space exploration;  to explore my earth science nerd roots.   I will also be teaching a new elective... Aeronautics and Rocketry!  As well as the CSI elective.  I hope the students have as much fun as I will.

In addition to the amazing activities, labs and projects I have planned, students can look forward to the 8th grade Busch Gardens field trip in October and 7th grade the Sound to Sea coast trip in May.  I will be sending more information soon.

A year-long project that will continue this year is the Wetlands Outdoor Classroom project.  8th grade will head this project which I hope to begin for them this fall.

With two new science teachers, Ms. Holcomb in the Lower School lab and Mrs. Pope in 6th grade,  I do not plan to do a Science Fair this year.  So you will not have a science fair project.  We may do something "project-like" later.

So as you can see we are going to be busy.  I hope everyone had a wonderful summer.  Let's make this year the best one ever!
