Congregation Care
Congregation Care Full story

"Praise to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God." II Corinthians 1:3

The purpose of the Congregational Care Ministry at T.C.C. is to care about and encourage people in our church family and to seek to ease their burdens. A wonderful definition of congregational care is given by Lawrence E. Holst;

          "The attempt to help others, through words, acts and relationships to experience as fully as possible the reality of God's presence and love in their lives."

The Pastors as well as the Ministerial staff, Deacons, Deaconesses, Stephens Ministers and other volunteers are available to serve you. Our church community is to be a safe haven where the afflicted are nurtured in hope.

A large part of the Congregational Care Ministry is Intercessory Prayer. If you have a prayer concern, please call the church office at 508-358-7717 and leave a prayer request on extension 209, either during regular office hours, or after hours. The messages are checked frequently.

You may specify that your prayer request be shared only with the Pastors. You may wish to include prayer from the Deacons and Deaconesses. Or you may want to enlarge the circle of prayer to include the whole congregation and be listed in the weekly church bulletin. Confidentiality is always respected.

The support offered by the Congregational Care Ministry offers many benefits to our church family:
  • Comfort and care to those in need
  • Promotes understanding and empathy
  • Increases love and unity for one another
  • Exposes the need for and increases prayer
  • Widens our circle of Christian support
  • Provides opportunities for service to Christ
We encourage you to pray and consider your gift for serving others within our church family.

"Jesus did not come to explain away suffering or remove it. He came to fill it with his presence." Paul Claudel

We are here to help, and show God's love to you. Please do not hesitate to contact us.
