Worship services at the TCC will be held at 9:00 and 10:30 this Sunday morning. The two options are designed to give people choices and accommodate various family needs. The earlier service will have childcare for preschool children and younger, and will feature classic Christian hymns played on the organ. The 10:30 worship service liturgy is led by an ensemble of instrumentalists and vocalists, and uses
a wide variety of praise songs and hymns. This second service also has care for those preschool age and younger, and a full program for children
called "Live the Adventure." Children will experience large group drama /creative teaching followed by grade level small groups where they will learn to apply
biblical truths to their daily lives. Classes for middle school and senior high students are also held at 10:30 where students in grades 6-12 join together for fellowship, lessons and small group discussions.
> Pastor Jim Pocock begins a preaching series this week from the book of Genesis. The first eleven chapters of the first book of the Bible deal with God's creation of the universe and the place of people in it. The series of messages is entitled "What are People For?" which reflects the Bible's intent not to answer the question of how the world was created, but why.
> Important topics such as human purpose, our relationship to the earth, our relationships to God and the other people on the earth, the tendency of human beings to make choices that are destructive personally, socially and spiritually and what we should do about it, the nature of temptation and how
to deal with it, the relationship between work and rest, and the meaning and nature of marriage are all themes that the early chapters of the Bible deal
with and will be presented in this series. Jim will preach the first message, called "God Created the Heavens and the Earth" this Sunday and will introduce the series with it.
>
> The worship service at 10:30 will also feature the baptism of Susan
> Durnford, who will share the story of her adult conversion to Christianity
> following years in an oppressive religious cult.
