Alecia Behrens, Director of Youth and Family Ministry, joined Trinity’s staff in July of 2007. She was born in 1985 in St. Louis, and has lived all 22 years of her life in the Florissant area. She still lives there with her parents, Ron and Ann, two sisters, Amanda (20) and Allie (18), and 2 dogs, Angus (a 2 year old black lab) and Denver (a 9 year old Chow mix).

 

Alecia graduated from Hazelwood Central High School in 2003, after which she headed to northwest Indiana to attend Valparaiso University. There, she majored in Youth and Family Ministry, a major that she chose back in high school. In her four years at Valpo, Alecia was involved in the church life of 3 different congregations in the community. Through those congregations, she gained experience in working with elementary, middle school, and high school youth. She also had the privilege of working with her mentor, Tammy Mason, of Christ Lutheran Church in Valpo, during her senior year. In addition, Alecia has spent many years working with the youth ministry at her home church, Atonement Lutheran in Florissant.

 

When she’s not working, Alecia enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, especially to visit the many friends she made in Valpo (from Seattle to Kansas City to Chicago), reading, swimming, and watching her hometown sports teams, especially the Cardinals. She feels incredibly blessed by God for everything He has done in her life, and she is really excited to see where He takes her life, especially in her ministry with Trinity!
