Trinity Cathedral Choir at the high altar of St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, August 2012

Trinity Cathedral honors the role of the church in training young people for musical leadership. We strive to provide vibrant, substantial, and fun musical programs for all children who show an interest and who can commit to our weekly schedule. Our choral programs promote leadership, teamwork, and self-discipline while teaching musical skills that last a lifetime.  In addition to singing weekly for Sunday services, the choirs regularly sing for concerts, tours and recordings. In the past six years they have sung at St. Peter's Basilica in Rome; the Basilica of St. Francis in Assisi; Canterbury and Gloucester Cathedrals in England; the American Cathedral in Paris; Washington Cathedral; Trinity Church, New Haven, Connecticut; St. Philip’s Cathedral, Atlanta; and Grace Church, Charleston For more information, see the Chorister Handbook, or contact Jessica Gibbons in the music office at 771-7300.

The Trinity Youth Chorus - is open to all children in grades 3 and higher who enjoy music and singing.  This choir rehearses once a week and participates as scheduled at Sunday liturgies.  Each rehearsal takes place in a fun atmosphere that requires a smaller time commitment than the accelerated Cathedral Choirs.  Although the Trinity Youth Chorus (TYC) may occasionally be scheduled to sing at a concert, members of the TYC do not participate in the curriculum of the Accelerated Chorister Training program, and do not normally tour with the Cathedral Choirs.

This choir of 36 adult members holds a reputation as one of the finest church choirs in the Southeast, and it sings a varied repertoire encompassing more than eight-hundred years of music. The choir has toured England six times since 1990, most recently in July 2009 at Canterbury Cathedral.  In addition, Trinity Cathedral Choir was in residence at Gloucester Cathedral in 2006, Washington National Cathedral in 2004 and 2008, and sang at St. Thomas Church in New York City in 2005.  Auditions are required.
