The church Session consists of the pastor (moderator), associate pastor(s) and ruling elders.  Some of the Session's responsibilities are:

  • maintain the spiritual government of the church 
  • to oversee the Christian conduct of church members
  • to examine, ordain and install ruling elders and deacons
  • to make decisions affecting church property 
  • to call congregational meetings
  • to establish and oversee Sunday School and Bible Studies
  • to promote world missions
  • to promote obedience to the Great Commission
  • to oversee administration of the Sacraments
  • to have authority over aspects of worship & music
  • to hold stated meetings
  • to keep an accurate record of its proceedings
  • to keep an accurate record of baptisms, of communing members, etc.
