Spiritual Formation
We understand that one's spiritual journey is a very personal matter, but we also believe that it's important to travel that journey with others. Sometimes, the journey is confusing and difficult; yet, there are no quick fixes or programs that can spell success in three easy steps. Our being open to God’s leadings and our willingness to not do it alone helps get us through. Our family at Wieuca would love to travel this journey with you. Perhaps we can learn something from one another as we pursue wholeness with ourselves, the world, and with God.
You will see links to the left that say, “Getting Started,” “Beyond the Basics,” and “Going Deeper.” These links represent different entry points or transition points for people who desire to be intentional about their spiritual life. These links will help you gauge where you are in your journey; however, as one friend describes the spiritual life, “it’s like a lightning bolt shape, zig-zagging forward and backward, but over time you see it going in a direction.” While you will find recommended readings and experiences that match that part of the spiritual journey, remember that, as the Benedictines say, “Always we begin again.” Since, the spiritual life is an ongoing process of learning and re-learning, discovery and rediscovery, we’re not going to tell you where you have to start.
Your personality and interests will determine where it’s best for you to jump in. No two spiritual journeys are the same. Because of that, we can’t dictate what yours should be like, but we can give some guidance, direction, and most importantly, companionship for the journey.
