Wilshire is a place where children are both seen and heard. Preschool and children’s ministry is one of our greatest strengths, and you’ll find Wilshire to be a place that nurtures your whole family.
The basic building block of involvement for preschoolers and children is Sunday School. We offer fully age-graded classes from birth through sixth grade. Each class is designed specifically for age-appropriate learning styles. Even our preschool classes are focused on teaching, not just babysitting.
Music and Missions is the core of our Wednesday programming for preschoolers and children. After Koinonia Café from 5 to 6 p.m. in Community Hall, children move into age-graded rooms on the first and second floors for 45 minutes of music, followed by 30 minutes of missions education. Our children’s music program teaches fundamentals of music in an enjoyable way and helps children learn to become worship participants and worship leaders. The older children’s choirs sing in worship on a regular cycle. Our children’s missions program is called Globetrekkers, and it combines world geography, Scripture lessons and social justice awareness into one big happy hands-on experience.
Numerous special events are offered for preschoolers and children throughout the year, including Vacation Bible School, MusiCamp, Cooking Camp, Preteen Camp, Friday Friends for preschoolers, Spring Fling for children, special events just for boys and just for girls and much, much more.
Wilshire also has a popular Early Childhood Learning Center that’s more than a Parents’ Day Out, as well as a thriving Mothers of Preschoolers group.
