Mindy Logsdon, Minister of Missions
Mindy began her work as minister of missions in October 2008 but has been a member of the congregation since 2002 and was a deacon prior to becoming a staff minister. MIndy teaches 8th grade youth Sunday School and she and Rick are active supporters of Wilshire’s student ministry. She has been trained as a Stephen Minister and has served as a youth summer camp counselor.
She previously worked as a case manager and assistant director of development in charge of philanthropy at Genesis Women’s Shelter and was a youth program specialist with Mothers Against Drunk Driving. She holds a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science from Hardin-Simmons University with a double major in church ministry and psychology.
Her own immersion into missions as a lifestyle began as a young child raised in a pastor’s home. She went on her first mission trip as a preschooler and by seventh grade was teaching preschoolers in Vacation Bible Schools herself. Before long, she was helping organizing the annual mission trips for her father’s church. These trips took her and her family to Brownsville, Texas; Matamoras, Mexico; Marshall, Minnesota; Farmington, New Mexico; San Antonio and Eagle Pass, Texas; Florianopolis, Brazil; and Cuidad Acuna, Mexico.
Mindy also serves on the board of directors of the Dallas Christian Women's Job Corp. She and Rick live in Lake Highlands.
