Childcare (extended teaching care) is provided at the church for children birth through pre-kindergarten during all regular worship services. Beginning with entrance into kindergarten, children attend worship with their parents. Sunday school is provided for all ages between the two morning worship services.

Extended Teaching Care for preschoolers is staffed by both paid professional caregivers and volunteer caregivers from within the congregation. All have been trained and have undergone examination to ensure the safety of all children in the church's care.

The preschool wing of Wilshire's building is located near the Sanctuary on the north end of the church behind the James Gallery. It is a secured area with access limited only to the children and their caregivers. If the door is closed and locked, there is a doorbell on the wall which you can ring, and someone will come open the door for you.

Parents may bring their preschoolers to worship care 15 minutes prior to each service.
